You can get an old vw/audi drive shaft quite cheap and use the outer cv joint the advantage is these drive shafts are thick and hollow making for a more stable mounting surface

hi guys, So the Land rover propshaft is spot on for what i need.
i can even drill down into its centre and wind a bolt in through the base of my chair.
hopefully will be strong enough to take the motion.

So next im looking for some DC drives to lift the left and right side via some sort of usb controllers.
    Any pointers would be awesome.

    Cheers all

Edit: BTW the shaft cost me 6 pound on ebay LOLz

    ahh cheers noorbeast.
so 25/1 50/1 is that speeds or torque.

ill do a drawing and post that soon.
im mainly just trying to copy most other sims. UJ under the seat central and then forward by around 3ft left and right sides will have the motors.
i dont want huge movement just subtle tilts.

    Too small.

A word of advice, finalise and post your design, then it will be possible for others to given some advice as to what motors will be needed to drive it. SimCalc can help get your head around the basic physics of design choices: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...e-linear-speed-and-forces-of-your-design.270/

I picked up some second hand Peugeot 106 wiper motors off eBay about 10 15 quid each will probably do the job for a classic 2 dof design but many recommend larger ones with bigger gearboxes maybe off of a bus/lorry but I agree with noorbeast you don't want to buy unless you're sure of a design first
