    Hello

My name is Otto Glenewinkel and I am the director of the Dwipod Corporation based in Texas. We build impaired and distracted driving simulators. We are also the North American distributor for City Car Driving.

Forward Development has recently released a true motion version of the commercial City Car Driving software which outputs the actual telemetry data.

My problem is I have never been a software guy (my specialty has always been hardware). The developer is not interested in creating software to extract and interface with the data which is why I am here. I have had a ton of interest in the software from researchers but they need a back end which can extrapolate the telemetry data. We are also getting requests from customers to develop motion platforms.

Does the admin on this page offer development of plugins for this purpose? I have no problem purchasing commercial use licenses for my simulators or plugins.

    Any advice would be great

    Thanks

    Otto Glenewinkel

    Hi Otto,
SimTools is pretty much made for your situation.
It's made to be able to capture and then make sense of telemetry data from just about anything.
Depending on what is available in the telemetry for City Car Driving, SimTools can support not only the Simulator, but It can also support Dash Boards and Transducer setups also.

The problem with City Car Driving to this point, is the fact that they have all the different versions.
And the commercial version is expensive to buy for me to just to add SimTools support.
Being that they now have telemetry supported, I would think its well documented somewhere.
So if you can send me access to the version you are using, I could probably produce a working plugin for it in a week or so.

Once the game plugin is created, it should continue to work even after a game update.
As long as they don't change their api. (which is the point of a api, so it should not change.)
    Take care,
    youddy

It is possible to pm members, here is how, but making a plugin for the commercial version of CCD would be of interest to other commercial providers, some of who have made previous requests, so @yobuddy I would suggest the core discussion be public and only the information about accessing the software for dev purposes be private: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/private-messaging.85/

    On it buddy!
We are going to try to collect the info we need and proceed with a plugin.
Should anything interesting arise from this project, we can post it here.
    Take care all,
    yobuddy
