the paddles are not as close to the centre as they seem in the picture. they are in the perfect position.

    awesome motion rig !
there are no words to describe this as it is perfect . nice work . very clever design also as it is neat and simple . I am looking forward to seeing the rig running
it motivate greatly to display my rig. I will start to do so As I will upgrade rear traction loss and also my diy gseat (I am still waiting for the main hardware)

thanks mate. i like the design but how it actually turns out is a different story lol. ive just got to work to get started but its absolutly freezing in the workshop. im normally sat in the office doing quotes.
im hoping it turns out ok. im not going to rush it. ill get a good few hours in today if i can deal with the cold. ideally id like to get the base done this weekend and the top the weekend after. The plasma table will be set up tuesday so i can get the aluminium plates cut. hoping im up and running in a few weeks as i have so much to do on the house still but im having a bit of time off from it.

ive managed to get most of the base done today. just got to put the wheel plates, and traction loss bar in, and also the for top plates to mount the actuators but need the plasma to cut those accuratly.

I should be able to get it finished next weekend if nothing comes up, except for the pedal mount and the aluminium plate. the plates will go on after i have rewired it all neatly

Had a really good day today and got a fair bit done. I had a go on the cnc plasma too to cut the plates for the actuators, wheel mount plate, pedal mount plate and the plates for the top frame. What a fantastic bit of kit that is. It must of took 4-5 minutes to cut the lot.

I may stay on at work in the week to get the traction loss brackets sorted and to weld the actuator plates, and top plates in.

For now i opted for the pedal plate to be flat to take my t500 pedals. This was just an easy option to save time because when i sort the HE pro pedals these will be top mounted and hanging so will be removing the plate anyway, and modify to suit
    plate small.jpg floor small.jpg on bench small.jpg front small.jpg view 1 small.jpg view 2 small.jpg

The wood was put there so i could get a rough idea of how it will sit.

Overall i'm happy with the outcome

A really great project:thumbs Something to become jealous^^

But there is one thing I don't understand. Are you planning to cover the actuators with aluminum? Why not building something with a greater absorption? The goal is to reduce the noise of the actuators, ist't it. So i'd really recommend to use a different or combined material. If you want to have the metal on the outside you can make a sandwich-wall. E.g. MDF, bitumen and aluminum on the outside. Or just aluminum and bitumen (about 4mm).That would reduce the noise WAY MORE than only aluminum. Aluminum has a big young's modulus, so it really transmits the vibration and sound waves better than other materials.

Hi mate. Im hoping it turns out OK. Ill order the alluminium floor plate today so i should have it cut and the frame painted by the weekend.

It is only going to mask some of the squeaking being boxed in. If it doesn't mask too much i am going to glue acoustic sheets to the insides as someone mentioned earlier, but as its not bass, and just a squeal i'm not sure how effective it will be.

Im justing hoping it all works as is should and looks good. I am mainly playing with headphones on the rift now so its not the end of the world if they still make a bit of noise. The other main reason for doing this was so i can hide all the cables as there are loads and it looks terrible. i will be carrying out a full rewire when i've got it in place

Had another good day at work today. Its finished on the fabrication side. I will hopefully bring it home tomorrow to put the aluminum plates on and then i can start the tedious job of wiring it all up.
I have got to machine some Nylon inserts to Go in the cups on the top frame so the actuators are not metal on metal, but no one had told me the lathe had packed up so i need to get that fixed.

I have also put the new support frame in for the HE Pedals with the dimensions supplied by Svens at HE engineering, so when i get them in the next couple of weeks i can just bolt them on.

I still have to make a mount for the handbrake but this will just bolt on as im not sure where i want it until that arrives.

The first picture is the new pedal mount plate cut on the plasma today.

I also haven't secured the aluminium in the pictures but i wanted to see how it looked and has turned out pretty well and looks like an arcade cabinet so i'm happy

The close up just shows the rear brackets for the tractio loss wheels, but i will be playing without that for the time beeing, but can just bolt on my actuator and wheels when ready
