It is called " Caja reductora" in spanish, and also Gear reducer or plain reducer in English too, like in this link:

    Ok, sorry.
English is not my native language and to be honest, it doesn't matter to me at all, how that "thing" is called in English or Swahili. In Germany we say "Getriebe" and that's all that counts. Yes !!
"Getriebe" and "Oktoberfest". Cheers !! :cheers

Try to get a set with a different coupler , this type are easily damaged in our sims :-( try to get one with the Nylon block in the middle ( Like the orange block in one of the picture from that advert )

    love the 3D printed parts,

is the top bushing a temporary measure or were you planning on using this as a permanent part?
would it not help to have this as low friction as possible?

    1) for efficiency
    2) for longevity
    3) for noise

just wondering how suitable 3d printing will be for those types of parts,
    look foward to seeing more.

seriously considering ditching my AC wormgear project and going this route instead. primarlity because ive hit a road block with emi issues from AC inverters and also as i dont believe its going to reproduce the subtle response that these actuators will, much like a direct drive wheel.

Well that's the nice thing about 3D printing isn't it? Doesn't cost you much to give it a try and see if it'll work or not.

@baykah Very cool to see, and looking forward to the finished project as well. You mentioned before that you'd be willing to share the files you've created once you're out of "beta". Would love to take you up on that offer!

    Hi !

I've got most of the parts now ... I've been working hard on assembly everything ..

Still need some 3D printed part to finish everything, and I need 2 more ballscrew to repair the one that me and my father dismounted ... it is working, but with 1/2 the ball inside :D

For the top brushing, I used the same thing as wanabeaflyer !, go look on the dyi actuator thread, there is drawing from him. I only modified a few thing, but the top part is including a delrin brushing inside from IGUS

    Regards

Hi @baykah impressive stuff and all coming together nicely , I would only ask one thing , are universal joint mounting plates on the base of the actuator 3D printed or made from solid.
the only reason I ask is that im not sure how 3d printed parts would hold up under the full weight of the upper platform and the full inertia when the sim is going full speed , this section will take all the load so need to be decent material .. Ply wood >18mm or Delrin ( Acetal co polymer plastic ) or aluminium I think would be a better choice ,,, not a criticism just something I thought id pass on .. really nice actuators and with great touches congratulations , not too long now before 1st steps into motion :) keep up the excellent work

    Hi !

Yes it is 3D printed, I know that will be the most likely weakness of my build ...
Unfortunatly, I will not be able to test is before finishing the rig ...
I took margin with the M10 rod to be able to do it bigger, or I may do a composite, plywood 4 or 5mm with resin epoxy on both side of my 3d printed part.
Moreover, my 3D printing filament is petg, close to ABS but I printed it only at 40% density to save time ...

Thanks again for your work !, I will name my rig "wanabeeaflyer2 - #2" lol

Hi Baykah I have been following your build closely because of your choice of motors => Motors ! 3000rpm / 12V 270W https://smartmotor.en.alibaba.com/p...le.html?spm=a2700.7803228.1998738836.8.NeUjEE . So have you been satisfied with them even though they seem to have a lower rpm then other choices and have you done a load test yet to see if there is a drop off in speed under load. I have been holding off on my motor choice to see how yours have turn out great build keep up the good work.

    Hi,

Still waiting next month to buy the last 2 sabertooth ..

There is one another build with 3000rpm motors ..
    https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/grigory’s-6dof-24v-dc.8908/page-6

Where are close to powering up ... until then hard to tell if those motors are OK, but i'm pretty sure manufacturer can do custom motors at 4000 ..

Past week, I finished wiring the actuator and check with the sabertooth I allready have ..

=> Chineese potentiometer are shit, ordered vishay on radioshack ...
=> One ballscrew seems to be bent ... I will wait the new one I ordered to check it out
=> I am adding 2 x 8mm thread rod at the base of the rail to do a mechanical stop to avoid risking my 3d printed part in case of problems
=> I am adding 2mm plywood epoxied both side of my lower plate

"On hold" until february money to buy 2 sabertooth :(

@ALL: Anybody know how the token thing work with simetool 2.0 ?
