    Yes I have to install them again as soon as the rig is working well. I just used them on the sub channel from my 5.1 surround it worked okay but with simtools v2.0 we should be able to use them properly soon :)

    Its nice to have a breeze blowing at you when racing in any game as I get very hot and sweaty very quickly just nice to have. Its like climate control in a car except nothing like it :D

    Just finished to read all the posts, quite instructive.

    You never mention why you dropped your first design to switch to actuator. Was is for fun, challenge, or necessity? And now that actuator are 'almost' working, do you feel it is the right choice? What are the difference? Thanks.

    i've one more point according your power problem @SilentChill
    The one point i mentioned in wannabeaflyer2's post, the other thing is the resulting force due to the angle of your actuators. I think someone mentioned it already...

    Here are two graphics.
    This is your design. The diagonal line is your actuator. The force F is the weight of the rig.

    The angle theta is quite big, so the resulting force is big.
    Here would be the actuator with a smaller angle theta.

    So if your weight of your platform is 120kg with. every actuator has to handle 20kg, but the motors have to fight maybe against 40kg.

    I have made it so the actuators are at 45 degreen so they maybe just are to low. there is nothing I can do about it tho as I have no head room.

    Perhaps shorting th bottom of the actuators some how maybe be the way to go get more of an angle on there

    You also could lower your seat;)
    with an angle of 45° your motors will see the weight with a factor of 1,4. But this is at the middle position. If your platform goes down, your angle theta decreases. Maybe up to 60°? Than you'll have the factor 2. so about 40kg static per actuator.

    If you're in the mood of some testing you could take one actuator and test it under different loads. 20 kg 30 kg and 40 kg for a while and see, if there is such a gigantic difference in power consumption and heat development. If so, you know how to solve your problem.

    If everything's fine, i'd say that wannabeaflyer2 needs to power up his machine to see the same current you do;)

    I could probably try to lower the seat more or the entire platform and connect the actuators higher up. I will have a look and see what I can do ;)

    @SeatTime and @wannabeaflyer2 quick question for yaz :) What angle are your actuators set at in the middle position ? Just wanna see if this could be the issue

    Before you start to construct, i'd really test one actuator with different loads. this should be way faster:p

    Hi Good Buddy @SilentChill will try to get those angles for you when I get home later , I have more headroom to play with so I'm guess that with my upper platform Radius being circa 670mm and the lower one being 640 mm ish that my angles are not as steep as yours, but will confirm later :) well this did not leave the workplace pc LOL so later at home is now ,,
    ok just fired up the beast and the angles of the actuators at mid level is circa 60 degress so pretty symmetrical I guess ( that was more by luck than judgment LOL ) and the incline from vertical ref roll seems to be 10-15 degress ( this one is not so easy to measure see attached Pics not meant to hog your post good buddy so when done looking i will shift the pics to my post Cheers

    Thanks dude !! Could possibly be the lower angle I have that is giving me the problems like @My.stAr suggests. No hogging going in its all informative ;)

    Anyways here a new video it feels pretty damn good and its working well at PWMmax 210. My biggest problem again is heat these motors get hot just sat there doing nothing but they are totally sealed I need to get some air circulating in them. It does say in the info sheet that they will get "too hot to handle" haha and mine do but i don't know if they will get just too hot I don't want to burn them out.

    Quite some time ago I had a snafu and walked away from my rig while leaving my motors on for an hour or two. They got so hot they would burn you if you touch them and they barely had any torque left in them. I was sure I permanently damaged them but once they cooled down they were just fine. Hopefully if yours start getting to hot you will notice a loss of power so you will know you need to stop for awhile and let them cool before they are possibly damaged.
