I have a full frame motion rig, just wondering will I have to mount the camera on the frame or off ? If so how will it affect tracking with the rift.

Hand it upside down on the ceiling. Once you calibrate the sensor, you're good to go. 3M tape works fine on the bottom of the base. In my scenario I have my rig then i turn the camera to the other side of my rig for standing scenarios.

That's what I was planning on doing thanks for confirming. Does it affect tracking in anyway? I thought that since the camera was static and I'm in motion it would cause some issues.

Wont affect it. Now how much your rig moves may make it mess with you, I use a seat mover system and dont have traction loss currently so it doesnt bother me. Others do mount it to the rig but I have never had the need to do so.I found that when it was attached to the rig it created some perceived latency because the camera was shaking from the rig moving and it would jiggle.

does it make the whole experience better from all the little diffrences from the dk2.
do you notice the pixles as much or is it just that muich clkearer that it is not really noticed like the dk2.
is it a worth while upgrade.

You dont notice the pixels as much, I dont notice them at all. SDE isnt an issue anymore now its more about the resolution. Its not a 1080p screen at 20 inches away. I would call it like playing on something a little better then 720p.

Its much more clear especially in places like the cockpit of a car or plane. Games like Luckeys Tale are awesome examples of where you don't need it to be better right now for games like that. I can definitely play full races now where I refused to before.

Its worth the upgrade especially if you sell your dk2 and use those funds towards it.

It feels great, sound is awesome, not needing headphones is a huge upgrade to me.

I have mine mounted off the rig on a desk beside me using 3dof and it works perfect. I don't think you actually have to have your axis move you a lot to really feel it in VR.

Once I get around to it I could mount it on rig but my butt kickers had it vibrating and that was annoying.

Drift with screens was good, but if I was making another one I'd probably skip it. Drift in the VR was a huge immersion factor. I am still blown away at the feeling when I loose traction or completely miss a turn for that matter and fly off track. :)

@scalhoun not sure what you mean? Are you saying that 3dof is not worth it with rift?

could you say if the fences in project cars still cause issues with the flicker that is really distracting and annoying.

SDE is pretty much gone, Ive said before but its more about needing a little more resolution now.

@shannonb1 what has been the most impressive and/or immersive game/software title you've experienced so far using the CV1? Thanks.

I'm quite looking forward to playing Dead and Buried when the touch controllers ship. I fancy myself as a bit of a gunslinger having previously been facially scanned for a character called Sylvester but my aim will have to improve, based upon my track record:

Good question, I think I would categorize them by type.
    1. Flying - DCS World 2.0 - Its fabulous.
    2. Project Cars - I like Dirt Rally better in the DK2 buts its not available and Project cars illustrates the improved GFX and Screen Res.
    3. Hover Junkers - PLaying this wiht CV1 and my Hydra controllers through steamvr is awesome. Really need touch to hurry up and make an appearance.

Thanks for the lowdown @shannonb1. You did well to get the CV1 on launch day and you should therefore have an equally queue busting slot for the touch controllers.
Do you know if further action is required to secure purchase of touch or will Oculus debit the same funding source used for the CV1 when they're ready to ship? I registered my interest back in January and if memory serves, Oculus announced that everyone who pre-ordered the CV1 would automatically be opted in for touch.

Is that the Oculus store version of Project Cars?
