Just got a facebook note going with Granite Devices...going to do the Direct Servo Motor FFB......Argon is 600$+ to the US....The ioni is going to be less then 200$!! This means that for less then 600$ total we can build a servo drive motor!!!

Ok so what the torque avail.
Is the driver an easy one to drive as most require a 12v signal , not a 5v we can get from the Ard.

I have run one before on a K8055, driver required a 24v signal for direction (0v - CW , 24V - CCW) and a 24v pulse which can be achieved on the K8055, pricey little exercise considering motor had only 4NM of torque, useless but we could make it run very accurately.

nO, wasnt thinking about motion. The ioni is a server drive that can run the MIGE...if you follow the whole opensimwheel project you can see the details....the Argon drive that folks use now is around 630 us $ shippied. This is a perfect fit for that motor.

10- 20 new meters of force..this is the DIY version of the accuforce that goes for around 1800 us $

Not so fast. You'll need an expensive DC PSU for the IONI (36V/9A+ -> 100$+) and if you want to power it with more than 200W of power you'll afaik need to build an external power stage first.

It WILL be a little cheaper but firmware wise it won't be that flexible. There are pro/cons involved with IONI vs. Argon.
