    Yes, well done Nick!

With one spring in the middle, the tension is only provided by pitch effect = brake.
I have tested this and I liked it very much ;-)

But with 2 separate springs, do you feel some differences when the sim is Rolling? Is it noticeable? Is it better?
    Thks

I have recently added a 2nd spring to each belt and its starting to feel better, Unfortunately ive realized that to get the Proper Effect Im after it looks like the belts would need to be mounted Much higher and almost level with the top of my shoulders, When the belts Go through the little cut outs in the seat and go down to the spring there seems to be some extra friction and not really allowing the belts to freely "tension up". Ill keep playing with it but am currently pretty happy.

    Most recent Mod,

had a few teaser shots on FB and the Pic of the funnel was identified as a "Nut cooler when sitting at the PC" I honestly had to give it to the guy cuz thats partially what it is. LOL :grin

Thought i was going to go this route with the funnel's but decided differently

Ice Cream pail is where its at, lol

    1 1/2" drain pipe

2 main Runs come up the side and feed 2 vents which cover my chest, One run on the floor of the pedal box which will cover my legs.

the 4th line goes right to the back side of the pedals to keep my Feet cool,

and here's the Bucket air box in its glory. I wanted to tuck it Under the pedal plate but the "suction" from the fan rendered the "leg" vent moot, Just sucked back all the air it was trying to blow.

Next up is Traction loss, I have another motor identical to mine and just have to figure out how to mount it and have the mechanics work. I would like to keep the rig as Low as possible so a Slim frame work will be required, maybe even hide the motor under the current base frame. Im sure a Few of your guys who have done TL can give me a hand.

digikey is not really a local supplier: they seem to have a central stock and websites .ca .fr .it that makes you believe it's local.
Depending to your country, you can have duty taxes ~30€

Well they are from what it appears based in North America, So I would hope the Stock is coming from the US rather than the UK like Newarkelement14. When i spoke to the rep @ Newark they said they Do Not normally stock the particular Hall effect's I was using in the North American warehouse so it was a Long shipping time regardless. If Digikey has stock in the US i would be more than happy to pay a little duty on a pair of 15$ pots if i didn't have to wait 4+ weeks for delivery.

    Question for you too Matt,

Emergency power Switch, How do you have your's wired into your Power supplies ? can i join both Power supply "Pin 6 and 10 on my DSP-600's" leads to One emergency switch ?

Hi @Nick Moxley I tried polyurethane castors on my traction loss. The rig moved fine empty, but would hardly move with me sitting in it. I changed to inline skate wheels which have bearings, and now I can be thrown from side to side easily! I have a crab pot motor with a lever and rod connection, which gives me 4" movement either side of centre.

What ive been toying with today
Lazy susan i found at our local "Princess Auto" along with a 10' #40 roller chain and a 14T Sprocket to start out with.

That Stupid Emergency switch Lol, Thought it would be Ohh so much easier. I had to disassemble the switch and mod One side to work like i wanted it to. WAY too frustrated while doing it to take pics. lol But its Done and working. Now where to mound the darn thing.

    Thanks Mike,

Will be good for reference material as I have already got my whole plan in my head for my particular setup as i know we all have different unique situation's to deal with.

Figured out how to get the 14T Sprocket mounted to my 1/2" Motor Axle bolt. Got the Axle length figured out and cut tonight. So that will go off to the welder tomorrow, Cut some Little "L" Tabs for the Chain mounts, and Got the whole base assembled minus the side parts.

Lol Rocket ship anyone.....just needs a Nose cone.

Kinda looks like a nose cone.

Got the Main Gear and Idle gear Axle length's down and got them to the welder the other day
    [IMG]

Playing with the gear height im working with which is 1 1/8"

this is the final setup im drilling for.

Hi nick, its about the same as I did mine, except I used a sprocket with 11 teeth from a yamaha motorbike on both ends, on one end I made some kind of tensioner and on the motor side I just welded a bolt on the sprocket.
Actually the tensioner is not much use The chain is very loose on my sim .
If I had to do it again I made another kind of tensioner cos I think this one will not last long, it only holds the sprocket on one side , so it wil bend over time.
For now I race it untill it brakes , then I will make a stronger design.
Hope these words are some use, have a nice build !
