OK, this is a bit off the typical auto/plane simulator plugins request, so take this with a grain of salt.
For those that are not into cycling (and many that are), you may not know anything about Zwift so here is a bit of a description.. Zwift creates virtual worlds (many based on real locations) with hundreds of miles of roads to be used by indoor cyclists (on their trainers). The display shows your avitar (pretty realistic looking) as you ride along with with others that are also using Zwift (all over the world). Currently at any given time, there are thousands of people riding the Zwift courses. Your progress (cadence, speed, power, heart rate, etc.) is sent to Zwift real time, and Zwift will control your "smart" trainer to change its resistance based on road gradient, wind speed/direction, drafting, road type, etc. All equipment is tied to the PC that runs Zwift via Ant+ or Blutooth.

Typically lacking (only one trainer supports this option, and it is very expensive) is the ability of the front-end of your bike to be lifted based on the reported gradient. It would also be quite cool to be able to simulate the feel of going over cobbles, or wood bridges (again, only one trainer supports this), with some tactile transducers.
In any case, there are lots of things that I can think of for DIY additions that for the most part SimTools already supports, what is lacking is a plugin that possibly ties in with Ant+ traffic.
    Any thoughts on this?

BTW, I use SimTools for my 2dof (with traction loss) DIY rig for iracing.. works great. This is why I feel this might be in line with the sort of things that are done here.

Do the Zwift devs provide an API?

I do not believe that they currently do. All comunication is over Ant+ though, which has a standard format for data fields, and operates in a broadcast type way.. ie more than one receiver can be listening. That is about the extent of my knowledge though.
