    I like it!
But, what do you wanna say with the ready word?
If you would like to sell components I would understand it... but write it to a complett simulator?
Change the ready word to a powered by or else ?

    Regards

I am not a legal expert, however, ready is too general of a word for someone to be able to protect IMHO, so I think it is safe to use. Additionally, I think that this is a good concept!

I'd rather prefer the logo without the driver.
Seems to me like the driver is using a squat latrine, or hiding from his rivals...:-D

Besides the driver, the logo is pretty good imho.

I agree. I thought of speed ice skating when I first saw it.
I think the logo is well designed but the driver makes it too busy.

I would stick to the word ready.
    just my 2 cents

I had the same latrine first impression... LOL

Removing the driver will give a cleaner and more professional logo, imho! :)

I didn't care much for the squatting driver either. Here is the logo that I settled on. I made it to look a bit like the logos found on PC's and telivisions from a sizing perspective.

Maybe we could write up some basic criteria that a device should follow in order to be X-Ready such as Plug-N-Play capable, tested to work with X-Sim, etc...? Generally, a logo of this nature is supposed to inspire consumer confidence that a product will work properly along side other products, in this case, X-Sim of course.

I agree with egoexpress - better without the driver. The logo with the driver remembers me on the TV Total Wok Race  !

I would rather make different logos - there's no big difference between the powered and the ready logo and I think that the customer should see it at the very first sight ! Compare the HD ready and FullHD logo - they're different as well...

@Berney: Why do you want the logo to be black/white ? Is the silver/blue edition outdated ?

I'm looking forward to implementing the new logo on sim-parts.com, when the logo released in the final version  !

    I like that one:

Its pure and minimalistic! The advantage of a clean logo without too much colors and gradiants are the costs, when you print or etch it on a metal plate.

I am still thinking that the blue/grey logo looks nicer and more userfriendly for our website, but the X ready logo as a brand for any product is the more professional looking choice imho.

Thanks, but we should definitely decide now, which logo we use in future.
It makes no sense, when everyone bring new variants and no one knows, which logo must be used!

I ´ll make a poll. After that i publish the official x sim ready logo in the download section and close it here.

I like the first and last ones, X-sim powered, but we should remove the driver in the bathroom... LoL

I don't disagree with having a standard logo, but shouldn't the logo actually mean something?

Typically a logo of this nature guarantess compatibility with a standard of some sort and was validated by a third party. Since we are a small community, there will probably not be a third party validation, but if we are going to self-certify products, then mayube the community should provide a list of certification criteria?

    My two cents:

-Tested to work reliably with X-Sim
    -110V / 220V Operation
-USB Plug-N-Play Compliant (2.0 or 3.0) -OR- Serial Port Based
-If a driver is required, it should have an installer and instructions included -OR- install automatically via Windows Updates
-Drivers should be available for all current operating systems that X-Sim runs on

X-SIM ready could also be a piece of software, a third developer plugin etc. So shouldn´t meet it better software and hardware independent criterias?

    Hi guys,

i do not like the distorted SIM in the logo, so i send an alternative suggestion. Personally i do not think that the word sim is essential for a third party logo as our X is very unique and the brand recognition is given.

If i ought to decide i choose the first logo.

Btw. i found a recursive acronym regarding our brand:

    X-SIM in motion

    or

XYZ Simulator in motion but that´s only a half penny recursive acronym :)

Yes, you are correct. I assume that the purpose of this is mostly commercial and is intended to help consumers identify compatible products so there should be a software standard as well. The overall idea is that if a consumer sees the logo, that he can be sure that the product will function properly on his X-Sim simulator regardless of his country.

    Perhaps something like this?

    Hardware:
-Tested to work reliably with X-Sim
    -110V / 220V Operation
-USB Plug-N-Play Compliant (2.0 or 3.0) -OR- Serial Port Based
-If a driver is required, it should have an installer and instructions included -OR- install automatically via Windows Updates
-Drivers should be available for all current operating systems that X-Sim runs on

    Software
-Tested to work reliably with X-Sim
-If a driver is required, it should have an installer and instructions included -OR- install automatically via Windows Updates
-Software should be tested to run on all current operating systems that X-Sim runs on
-Software should have an installer or installation should be clearly documented

This is a small list, but at least a consumer would know that the software or hardware will run in his country on his operating system with X-Sim and be fairly simple to install.

If we don't have some kind of criteria, the logo cold just as easily represent poor quality in the minds of consumers which would cause those who do make a quality product to abandon the logo concept.
