-hey, I have been away for a while because of some I have been very busy ... (just started studying again, after 7 years of working... totally different)

A friend of mine offered me these for a good price... but will I be able to use them... I think the specs look a bit like the SCN5...

I hope someone can give me an answer, if I would be throwing away my money...

Try to find some info about their serial interface. The pdf you've linked just shows that serial control is possible, but we need to know it closer.

You should send an request for info or datasheets about the controller to IAI' support directly.

    It is this one.

But I am not sure if the acutator you've suggested supports it. You rather should contact IAI and ask them about it. I not even able to find the RC-RMA model in their product list even. Discontinued!?

It is not recommeded to use rapidshare links often, as they get deleted if not downloaded often enough. This leads to a bunch of dead links here in the forum :(

Because of that it is preferrable to upload files as archives directly into the forum, as long as they are not too big.

    IAI_Robo_Cylinder_Serial_Protocol_manuals.zip

The serial protocol with BBC chechsum seems pretty similar to the SCN5

Assuming Sirnoname would agree to make a plugin for them anyway, you would have to loan him a test actuator for implementation at least.
