Question Wiper motor wiring issue

    Hey im on the testing phase of my 2dof and having an issue with my motor only going one direction during motion test while the pot is connected i had gone through the ground isolation tutorial and upon further inspection of the motor internals it was pre ground isolated ive attached photos the brush assembly has rubner padding on the motor mounts and not in contact with the motor body .my motor had three wires coming out of it and some type of resitor connected to one of the brushes have no clue what it does and might it be the cause? TIA
