    So Wings of prey won't show up in my games list for patching I believe the others all work although I did get an .exe from dof reality so I'm not sure if I'm missing something, the updater does the min/max ok. So the question is has anyone got Wings of prey working

    The software & plugins are made by some very generous people here who have spent the time to develop their skill-set in order to do so, for very little in return.

    Many of the game plugins from x-simulator.net aren't even available on other retail platforms, such as the Next Level Racing V3, SimXperience, among others.

    I know first hand that the two plugins you mention here are not, among many, many others (the Need For Speed series, the TrackMania series, Split/Second, Elite Dangerous, Eve Valkyrie, GTA V, Flatout 2, and countless others).

    Most commercial motion platforms might support up to 40/50 games, many would be a fair bit under that number.

    At last count there are 122 game plugins here on x-simulator, the authors deserve a BIG HUG! hug:


    This entire ecosystem was initially developed for the DIY motion platform building community by some very dedicated enthusiasts, with the option for commercial licences as well.

    What you actually "paid for" was a commercial motion simulator from a company who is piggybacking off of the software/plugins which are offered here on x-simulator.

    Becoming a Gold Contributor, while I'm sure is greatly appreciated by the admins, didn't grant you further game entitlements beyond what is already available.

    The plugin authors aren't obligated in any way to fill the gap which you feel the manufacturer of your motion platform is not fulfilling.


    You could just politely post a plugin request in that section of the forums, but please do a bit of research first to see if the telemetry data is actually being output by the desired game.

    Just like you, most plugin authors wouldn't want to waste their time chasing the memory-hooks method, knowing it'll most likely break with the next game update.

    The FIRST step would be to reach out the the game developer and ask if they offer the data through a game API, then make a plugin request to generate some interest here.

    No point in putting the cart before the horse, right?


    Hey...I LOVE Wreckfest too, and it would be awesome to have some real motion simulation within the game, but if you look at the facts it doesn't offer any native game telemetry + the game developer has been acquired by another company and is now more focused on their console release.
    This will in turn most likely also cause several new updates for the PC version as well, thus breaking any new memory-hook plugins even if they were to be developed.

    While it's not as immersive as a real telemetry plugin would be, it's a damn site better than sitting in a static rig and adds a bit to the fun.

    It takes a bit of tweaking to get some games to work, but for the most part it does the job well and is a great fallback option when there isn't an official motion plugin.


    The last I checked, everything offered on X-Simulator is a labor of love (game plugins), with no promises or guarantees on anything (aside from timed paid-access to the plugins section with Gold or paid SimTools software licensing).

    Unless DOFreality is helping to directly fund the development of specific plugins & software, your issues should be with them and not the voluntary software/plugin authors here.
    If DOFreality sold you their product offering full games support, or immediate new release games support (I don't think they did this) then you would have a case with them.
    I only see them claiming to have "the most" games support of any motion platform, which in effect is true since their software of choice (SimTools) currently has 122 game plugins.
    Hopefully they are willing to ease your frustrations with the system and your expectations from it.

    I'm using 5 of them on my rig.

    There's no "chicken & egg" scenario here...xsimulator was developed first, and DOFreality capitalized on building commercial motion simulators based on the software.

    Without xsimulator and it's developers / plugin authors, you'd have a nice stationary paperweight.


    So you haven't even looked into using xsimulator with your BKG2 before further complaining????
