    I have seen this error in a couple other posts, but everything that has been suggested in other posts has failed to remedy the issue. I am getting the unhandled exception error shown below in the image. I have also included the text. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall .net as well as activate and deactivate several combinations of windows settings. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Simtools and tried running as admin, but it is still coming up with this error. Any suggestions/lessons learned over the time Windows 10 has been out that I can try to get this working? For reference, I am only set up to use one system to control everything right now, as I haven't been able to get it running to change any settings.

    Can you please post the full details for the error message.

    What .Net version is being used?

    I have SimTools running on Win10 on 3 different machines without any issues.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    What else is running that could cause a port conflict on your machine?

    Its an Asus laptop, so its possible that there is some pre-installed junk running on it. Ill shut a few more things down and check again. I am also running McAfee total protection. Do you think that might be causing problems?

    Yes I expect something running is causing the conflict and shutting down McAfee would be a good place to start.

    I believe I got it figured out. I had to make a registry edit to set the maxuseports to 50,000 instead of the default 4000. This must have been enough to free up enough dynamic ports to let me operate. On to the next step of inevitable failure!

    As always, thanks for the help :)

    I am a bit strict about what auto starts and what runs in the background on my machines, both for performance and security reasons, and it sounds like you should do the same.

    Yeah this one is only about 2 weeks old and I didn't have a chance to clean it up yet. Nice little laptop but it was an emergency purchase from best buy. I went through the msconfig last night and shut about 30 things off.
