Is there a reason that 1 motor stops working in games? Has it to do with going beyond the limits or does it lose track of the potentiometer output? Can it be the power supply cutting out? Sometime the left engine, sometimes the right. Happens in several games.
Sometimes I can play for hours without problems, sometimes 1 of the motors shuts down after 5 minutes. No real reasonable explanation. I have to restart smc3 to get the motor going again.

There can be several causes, one is going beyond set limits and that is for safety.

If the disconnect is accompanied by a Windows sound notification, often in high motion circumstances like a crash, then that may be triggered by a USB disconnect: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/usb-disconnects.396/

A motion profile that requires further refinement can also be a cause.

Faulty hardware and/or overheating may be a cause.
