Hello people! I am starting in this world and I want to make a platform based on the Simrig SR1 project (4 engines).

I already understand the mechanical and electrical part (I'm going to use Arduino Monster Motor Shield). My doubts are:

    1 - Is it a 3dof or 4dof?
2 - What software will I need for the project?

Do you know any video that teaches in detail how to configure the software?

I make videos teaching how to assemble racing drones and they are very detailed, but so far I haven't seen any teaching how to assemble and configure a movement platform.

From what I researched I will need two Arduinos.

I did not find any scheme teaching how to set up a project with two Arduinos. Does anyone know how to do it?

Help me understand the role of each software. Does the SMC3 adjust the limit angle movement of the motors along with the potentiometer response? Does Simtool relate the engine to the dof received from the game? It is?

    It will be a 3DOF.

You have a number of options regarding building or buying actuators. You do have many options but if you want to build the actuators use the Custom Google search box (near top right of page) on the Recent page and check out the SFX100 projects, using the @Thanos controller so they work with SimTools, as that is one of the easiest paths for the rig design you have in mind.

With respect to software see the SimTools FAQ section, including the link to the manual and many other tips: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/simtools-settings-tips-and-tricks.18/category

The FAQs have many other useful sections, so spend some time researching, as you will find it is time well spent.
