    ToNites THANX to

    @satbranigan
    @cgodwin
    @noorbeast
    @Gadget999

    thank you for your help and support so far.

    What happened in the last few months:
    - Corona :(
    - For those who have less work since I keep my fingers crossed it will change to the better -> good again !!!
    - For me - I had a lot of duty and the Sim was not that much of a prior concern ...
    - Now I have a little more time and I realized I still have very few idea of what to do ... but I started to build again :) YIPPIEKAYEAH !!!

    As I still do not have any idea how to make the RNR-Chair move mechanically with some chains/belts and my motors ... in contrast to also having even less idea about pneumatics ... I decided to follow @satbranigan and his great build:
    https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/i-made-2-dof-with-recycled-parts-for-150€.11646/ thank you mate for the inspiration what building easy might mean !!!

    This week I had some parts at a blacksmith in my town. Just some cuts, some drilling and a little welding ... and I realized for the money I would have to spend here in Germany for that - I'd rather learn working with metal and welding myself. So I bought some Titan Drills & cutting plates & a little welding-machine & Gloves & Electrodes (and spent still less than I would have had to pay for the blacksmith) ... after a few first tries I realized ...
    ... I can not weld :( ... well not yet ;)
    ... so I start building with less steal for now :) ! ! !

    here is what I achieved tonite o_O

    IMG_0582.jpg

    with more to come on Sunday and next week ... hopefully !!!

    I had the possibility to work on the Rig all afternoon ...

    ... I proudly announce:

    ! TOMORROW WE'LL HAVE A WEDDING !

    I will assemble the structure with the motors tomorrow.

    Things might still go wrong ...
    still this is by far my favorite & most challenging DIY project I ever began!

    My dearest friend - MECKY from Carinthia/AUTSTRIA ... told me so many technical skills when we were doing Freestye Ski Shows across Europe at the turn of the last century/millenium ... also making me dare this build ... THANX MATE !

    ... and I learned a lot lately
    :rolleyes:

    Here are todays pictures:

    YEAH & HEUREKA it is moving.
    It's moving quite the way it should. In my opinion I have to cut the threaded rods and that might give the Simulator a good horitontal neutral Position.
    Somethings for the eyes follows right here
    If you can tell me you think everything is good - that would be great & thanks for your appreciations :)
    I already changed that faulty Max amount.
    I weigh about 110 kg and it kinda works but the PSU I think is shutting down inbetween some seconds. Please tell me how I could handle that in a better way.
    Thank you - and see you around as testing just started.
    Cheers, Yours ARTi :)

    Just an observation, you need all the torque you can get for a compact design, as there is limited inherent design leverage.

    So it is best to have no more that 40 degrees up and 40 degrees down, as torque is poor past that, with the levers being at 90 degrees to the rods when the chair is level.

    Oh, OH, NOOOOO, I have to inlarge the Rods.
    I will pick up a long enough threaded rod this afternoon.
    Later folks ;)

    Hi Noorbeast. Thank you you are right. It is good to know how many degrees I can Tilt without problems. One down point my FlyCarToot has: the levers can only be as now around 3,5 cm. I appreciate any tips. As you saw in my new design I followed your advice concerning the point of postioning the Kardan joint.
    Keep up the great help. Thanx Thanx Thanx !!!

    • Until now - 12:30 - I could arrange the cables though a new cabletunnel I sawed in the electronics-box and I could close it.
    • added many cable ties to get stress of some very tiny and vulnarable cables.
    • Still have to create a box for the ARD.

    I am mechanically ready for the SECOND time now :grin
    Here are the pics of the change of my earlier design.
    I have a triangle of about 30 cm now. I might start testing this afternoon. I am having my holydays - rainy wheather - a couple of beer in the fridge ... perfect testing conditions :cheers I hope you will keep your fingers crossed again. More to tell later!

    To all the beautiful creators out there who inspired and helped me that far and are giving a helping hand right now @satbranigan @noorbeast @BlazinH . Here is a little wrap up what happened since August ...

    IMG_0745.jpg
    That is DER GERÄT some minutes before the first real racing test ... it worked great :)

    1601832568510.jpg IMG-20201004-WA0003.jpg

    I bought a fantastic Seat from a friendly Xsim guy in Munich ... 'put some Barberchair armrests on it I found in the trash ... realizing my Hotas work fine but the cables are way to short :mad:

    IMG-20201006-WA0001.jpg

    Made the cables one meter longer which took about 3 hours and seemed like I was doing a brain surgery :eek: Now I am a much better solderer than before.

    IMG_0830.jpg

    Well if I could succeed in this ... maybe it is time for a nice 3rd dof? Ok let's do it ... I ordered what was necessary ... and lets go ...

    IMG_20201012_214148.jpg

    First attempts to find a way I'd do it :cool:

    IMG_0860.jpg IMG_0859.jpg

    Alright somehow like this ...

    IMG_20201015_183752.jpg IMG_20201015_183724.jpg

    I did my first time welding in my life ... my son loves the equipment :grin

    IMG_20201017_120441.jpg

    IMG_0855.jpg

    Next ... lets cut some more ...

    IMG-20201021-WA0002.jpg

    ... I need a groundplate with less friction ... and the same for the wheels ...

    AND that is my status of today ...
