I am currently using one pc for all, motor control, dash control, games, etc.
I am curious if I could use a laptop as a 2nd pc just for dashboard control? Not so much a load issue on main pc, it has x6 AMD 6 core at 3.5 gig per core and 16 gig ram, but having the laptop for dash control, skype, mumble and dash display would be handy for testing.
Obviously I have to network the 'puters together. And I know I need simtools on both.
Whats the procedure to do this and is it feasible?
    Cheers, David.

    Hi Dave
If you just have the DashApp on a 2nd computer you don't need to install SimTools on that PC. The DashApp is enough.

In GameManager running on the same coputer as the game, click Dash
    GameDash.jpg
    Then click on IP Settings

    GameDashIP.jpg
and enter the IP address of the PC that runs the DashApp.

(Check the IP address by running ipconfig.exe on the PC where the DashApp runs.)
Make sure you also check Enable Dash Output and select a Packet Rate (e.g. 20 ms)

the DashApp PC needs to have the PlugIns installed on it.
So if you don't install it on a PC that has the simtools plugins already installed, you may need to install simtools and then install the plugins.

Ok,no worries, I can install simtools on both 'puters anyway. Just wanted to know if I could do a 2nd pc for dash only and main pc for motor and game control.
    Cheers Fellas.
Now to make a new laptop mount on the sim.

Keep in mind that you could also run the dash app on the game manager pc and then feed the outgoing data to the laptop. (If you use udp output)
