Hold the pcb in between a strong lightsource and your eyes, so that the light shines through the pcb, and then check your solderjob for shortcuts.

If you have a high res camera, post a picture of your pcb, while the light shines through it.

    regards

Which power supply is shutting off?

USB power supply (PC) or the 12V power supply?

i checked everything 5 times.... there is no shortcut...

The PCB Powersupply shuts of. Now i changed the Source and it is working. But is only works, if i plug in the power AFTER plug in the USB Adapter. In the other case, the LM2940 does not start?

Anyway.... When i use ponyprog2000 and i try to read security settings, then the red LED flashes, but i get the Error that device is missing.

After 1000000 errors it works. After that i tried ti write, but the same here. Again after 10000 errors i could write the settings. But the writing procedure took about 10 Sekonds. I dont know if this is normal.

Now i am flashing the firmware and the red led lights on, but i cant see any progress?
I am waiting for 10 minutes now, but nothing changes in the status. (when i was reading settings, the status also was not changing. It was 0% and then just finished (after 10 seconds) )

    is that normal?

    No ;P

Make sure that you enable the serial printer option for the USB adapter.
What crystal do you use? Some Atmega', like the one I used for example, dont work with 24kHz overclocking. Try a 18 or 22kHz crystal instead to see if it resolves the device missing problem.
It did the trick for my AMC.

Btw, I did use sockets for all active parts (crystals, ICs, voltage reg.), so that I am able to replace them easily for troubleshooting.

    regards

after a lot of errors and retries it works with 22MHz.

Reading and Writing security settings works fine. Flashing the firmware takes about 1 hour (not finished yet). It seems to be VERY SLOW.
