    Hello,

I've come across builds utilizing motorcycle u joints such as the xj650. Are there any advantages to going with the larger car/truck u joints?

Secondly, almost made a separate thread - is there rationale for making the u joint "post" that the chair sits upon higher or lower - so that it has a higher or lower center of gravity?
@mirkobastianini appears has a higher center position than some others, while some sit really low. [IMG]

An old car tailshafts with 2 uni joints are cheap and easily accessible in most places, they are really overkill in terms of strength.

The height of the seat pivot depends on the design but should be high enough in a full frame design to allow full pitch down without the pedal plate hitting the floor. You don't have the same issue in a seat shaker design.
