    Hey everyone,

I'm new to these forums and this software. I finally got my GS4 to work with DCS with some fatastic assistance from a member here, but I can't seem to get the Surge and Heave functions working. I'm assuming they will work as acceleration and turbulence/runway bumps respectively -at least I hope they will, but I can't get any output in game in these areas. When I go to panel testing it shows a response in the expected ways, but not in game. Any ideas? I'm new to the software so I may just be forgetting a critical step somewhere.

Thanks for the help! Glad to be a part of this group!

Try sway in place of heave. I think the plugin may have them reversed. Surge seems to be working fine for me.

Could you post some screenshots (thumbnails) of your axis assignments and interface settings?

Have you tried a different aircraft? Heave is very obvious in helicopters if you have any of those modules.

Here are the assignments and screen grabs. I know I have surge and heave on "0" in the screens, but even if I turn them to 100 I get nothing so THAT isn't quite what I must be missing. As far as the tuning center goes, if i hit 'capture data' it allows me to change values in the red section, and then if I turn off capture data they will remain. If I put anything in the green section nothing seems to happen. I've tried putting 100 in under heave and surge but still nothing. Activating the test panels gives me activity AND shows numbers changing in the tuning center. Do I need to re-patch the game if I make changes in tuning? If so that might be what I'm missing. I haven't tried different aircraft, and I've been trying this in the 2.0 alpha.

    Axis assignments:
    Axis 3 back left
    Axis 4 back right
    Axis 5 bottom left
    Axis 6 bottom right

What I've put into my interface settings:

    DataBits:8
    Parity:None
    StopBits:1
    OutPutBits:7

@kornykidd0 Does the green bar in tuning centre show values changing for heave and surge when dcs is running?

The heave, surge and sway forces output from dcs range from -1 to +1 and are measured to four decimal places.
