I have redesigned my motors with the pots (see pictures) in hope that all would go well. "well" guess what, It didn't! I think I am a step closer to making this work because when using SMC3 Utils I can make my motors run cw and ccw when using the triangle or sign wave command. However when I use the LFS sims "Test" game I cannot get my motors to even recognize that LFS is running. My one week for 250 coins are already used up because after one day I realized that my motors were not connected right. Like the heading says, Three time A Charm is not working for me. I have went from the beginning to the end of the Sim Tools Book and still it won't work. What the He## am I doing wrong?

You need to provide more details for others to help.

If you have followed the setup guides at what point does it not do what is expected?
Did the game patching report errors?
Do the Game Manager buttons go green and say connected when Game Engine is running?
Do the Game Manager buttons turn blue when the game starts?
Post some screenshots of your interface settings and axis assignments.
Were you able to get any movement when using the output testing tab in Game Engine?

Any info you can provide will help others to get you running sooner which has to be a good thing :grin

I understand and thank you for that too. I have been following the setup guide like a bible, but apparently I have missed a reading some where. This did work before I connected my pots to my motors, as I said in a previous thread my motors were running wild and then Historiker explained to me that they (the pots ) needed to be connected to the motors and that made total sense as to why they were doing what they did. So I connected them to my motors as seen in the pictures. and now I can't make them work with LFS. Using the SMC3 Utils I can make them work fine using the sign wave or the triangle. I set up my default in the game engine and saved it The game manager shows that it is connected(green) and when I start the game it says Game Running (blue) I did not get any errors.

Can you try the "Output Testing" button in Simtools. turn on output testing and see if anything happens when you move the slider. First just to be double sure go to Axis Assignments button - select the "Default" profile, set values, and then click the Save button (even if done before) - this won't change your LFS setup just the default used for output testing.

Also could you provide screenshots of the "tuning center" values for LFS

By the way you need to shutdown Windows SMC3Utils before starting the Simtools Game Engine or Simtools won't be able to use the COMM port.

I did the "Output Testing" and yes , I was able to see the motors move. (Axis #1 -68 to +67) and ( Axis #2 -67 to +67). here is a screen shot of LFS
Thanks for your help Terry W.

Everything works until I get to "Visualizing Game Data Extraction. I click on output Testing/motor not turned on/run the game (LFS), I see nothing, the sliders are not moving. I have went over everything from the beginning at least 4 times.

In the tuning center did you do a "Capture Min/Max"? With the game running, click "Capture Min/Max" then click "reset" and then drive the car around without crashing for a bit. After you have driven for a bit click "Save New Settings" and then "Stop Capture".

From the screenshot of the Tuning Center it looks as if you have no data coming in from the game, doing a capture might fix the issues that you are seeing.

One of these days I, or someone, should make a "how to" video for setting up a game for the first time. From installing the plugin through tweaking the axis. If I knew more about the tweaking controls I would but they are still a mystery to me.

Hello Historiker, I did do that, I went twice around the track. The readings look the same as before.

Define the axes? do you mean go back again and check all that I have checked 5 times already. I did go back and try to capture the Max/Min and now I get nothing no matter what I do. My default is Sim Force GT. I thought that the game would work with the default but not.

Can you please post screenshots of your GameEngine Axis Assignments and GameEngine Interface Settings?

So here is what is happening. I rewired my boards so that they look good and to make sure that they are wired correct, connected my pots and they are working. I have 5vdc at both of them and the voltage changes when I move the gears so I know the wipers are working. Opened the SMC3 Utils and I can adjust the pots to aline with the "BLUE" base line (with motors 1 and 2), open Sims Tools, Set my default (sim force GT). but now I can't move my motors using my mouse. Some things that I have already done. Uninstalled Sims Tools and reinstalled it because before when I tried to open it with administrator rights an error message says "cannot find sims tools folder" . Now that does not happen, however in admin rights there is no presets for me to select from for my default settings.?
