These IBT-2 boards really are... not good.

I bought my P3 in a non-functional state and found that the yaw driver was only working in one direction. So I replace the board. The other 2 were working fine with no issues. After firing up the rig with the new Phidget motor assy, the #1 motor would only move in one direction. Glad it wasn't the board running the new motor as there isn't an E-stop switch on the actuator yet. That would have been disastrous. So I'm going to swap out the IBT-2 boards for the MonsterMoto Shield but am unsure which ones to get as the link in the SMC3 tutorial is broken. Do I need 2 or 3 of them? I don't want to spend too much on this rig as I'm just using it as a test bed for the new motors before I sell it, after building a 6DOF rig. Is there another low cost solution that would be an upgrade to the IBT-2s?

Members have reported that quality control can be an issue for IBT2s.

At the same time, that is equally true of MMs, which few people now use as the only available option are not genuine, they are cheap clones: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/monster-moto-testing-before-use.158/

There is related information in the FAQs and there are other more robust options: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/motor-drivers.11/category

Many suggest these 100a controllers as a mid range cost effective option: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/reasonably-priced-100a-motor-controllers.412/

I may be wrong but doesn't dofreality work on Cytron drivers ? What kind of controller did you put on ? show some pictures of what exactly you did.
Are you using the original code from DOFReality in arduino ?

I'm not sure what generation rig this is but it uses an Arduino Uno and 3 IBT-2 boards. I had to replace the Arduino when I got it because the 2 previous owners tried to fix it. Neither were mechanically inclined and compounded the initial problem. I installed Klaus Schmidinger's ino sketch, which is an updated and cleaned version of the DR .ino. I also have the DR .ino that the last owner was sent, from DR.
I'm not planning on keeping this rig so I just ordered another IBT-2 board. I'll be returning it to it's original configuration prior to selling it anyway. At least it will have all new electronic installed for the new owner.
I will be using Sabertooth drivers on my 6DOF, I'm trying to find a controller that will run all 6 motors at an acceptable frequency that is compatible with the Arduino IDE. Maybe the TI MSP430.
