    Hi!

Stream Deck hardware is great but expensive...
Recycling an old android tablet and buying an app is much more affordable.

Let's see what are the alternatives to Stream Deck?

    Apps:
    ► Deckboard :
android app + windows software counterpart
    Wifi or USB
    https://deckboard.app/
    free (3x4) with ads
    or 3€ pro version

    ► Touch Portal
android or iOS app + Windows or Mac software on PC
    Wifi or USB
    https://www.touch-portal.com/
    14€

    ► Matric

    Wifi or USB

    ► MacroDeck

Macro Deck turns your Android device into a powerful tool to execute macros and shortcuts on your Windows PC, such as start/stop streaming or recording, post a Tweet or just open a application.

    Wifi only?

    ► roccat Power-Grid

ROCCAT™ Power-Grid™ is a free, fully-customizable remote control for your PC. Get the most out of your smartphone as you use your PC instead of letting it lie unused on your desk. Control your computer, games and applications, keep an eye on your feeds, monitor your computer's performance and...

not supported anymore? but still available here

    Stream Deck Mobile from Elgato
you’ll have to pay $2.99 per month or $24.99 per year to use the app (no lifetime license)

SimDeck is not a tablet alternative app, it's a software which drives a Stream Deck hardware (instead of Elgato software)

► UP Deck is dedicated to OBS Studio
    free
available for android and iOS devices
UP Deck : control deck for streamers using OBS. Available for iOS and android.

    ► any other alternatives?

    /////////////
    Choice criteria:
    ► Cost
    ► Plugins:

between Deckboard and Touchportal, check what software you want to drive: some app have dedicated screens and commands (OBS, ...) via plugins
► Evolutivity (Elgato ecosystem? it's seamless to pass from app to hardware)

not with a tablet, but with any other USB devices

► a software for sending keyboard macros activated from different USB devices
    hidmacro

A dedicated numpad, could be handy (and cheap):

Bit old topic, but just came to say that roccat powergrid has been discontinued many years ago (about 4 i think).
They took the server software out of the website and all the "community made" panels for the app, after a month or so they put the server software back again on their website, but not the panels, and some months after that they removed the software again until now.

The server software and app weren't being updated for a long time even before these events, however i did notice there is a link to another source for the server software here in the topic, but keep in mind that you probably will need to create the panels yourself, since there are very few community made panels laying around the net, not many people managed to save the panels as it seems roccat initially shutdown the app/software pages without warning and panels got perma-deleted, only a few that were still being used by some users might be around on hidden websites.

From the alternatives shown in the topic, i have used matric since its release, but for a space sim. however that same space sim got a 3rd party dedicated tool that also uses voice commands, besides the touch panels and i moved from matric to that one now.
