    Hi,

I am looking for advice and suggestions on actuators and a controller to repair an existing 6DOF frame. Throw is approximately 500-650mm …not sure exactly. No odrives or anything like that - I prefer actuators with a controller that is relatively preconfigured. Will use for flight simulator only - x-plane. Also curious about suggestions for extracting motion data with minimal latency from x-plane. I have spoken with a Chinese manufacturer (for a complete 6DOF) but they are struggling with extracting the motion data from X-Plane.
    Thanks

send pics and motor specs so we can help you

are the actuators ballscrews or gear motors ?

You can build actuators, use the custom google search on the Recent page to find the latest member projects as possible examples to emulate.

In terms of ease of commercial options I would suggest PT actuator ultimate with the @Thanos control boards.

SimTools has an Xplane plugin: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/x-plane-v11-plugin.235/

Or you can use Flypt Mover: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/flypt-mover.29/category

In either case you are going to need to spend time learning how to refine a good motion profile.

Contact PT-Actuator... they have more solutions than you can imagine. Here is a stewart platform from a few years back that is top loaded, meaning you could place a airplane cockpit on it. But consult for custom that will accommodate the load and speed requirements for your application. The latency of the controller is 1ms and compatible with its own output in FlyPT mover for easy connectivity:

    Thanks

And some feedback on Discord from AMC-AASD15A user that upgraded from DC motors and arduino recently...
