As far as I know you should look something like:
    - DC 12v (preferable) or 24v, some use AC.
    - 180w to +350w
    - 50 to +75 rpm
    - Dunno torque :blush
I guess, If someone corrects me.

the recommended motor from pipis2015 would be ok? it has 24v 78:1 transmission 44 rpm 20NM

The speed at 44rpm is a little slow, but you can get away with it via design and lever length, as long as it is actually rated at 20NM. The web page states 8NM, I can't read German but it seems the spec sheet states 20NM. You need to confirm which is correct.

The data sheet says 8NM rated load and 18NM max load
it´s very difficult to find a motor that fits...
I prefer the idea of short rods under the seat structure not too far from the center... ca 30cm

With a compact design you need plenty of torque, mine can handle a user of over 130kg: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/dx-racer-compact-simulator.5866/

To give you an idea I use one of these on my heave axis but use 60: gearboxes with the same motors for the other 2 axis: https://www.motiondynamics.com.au/worm-drive-motor-12v-24v-200w-180-rpm-20nm-torque.html

@bsft's Desk Racer seat shaker rigs also used 2 of the 12V/24V 200W, 180 RPM, 20Nm Torque motors and I am pretty sure he said he had users up to 100kg on them: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/desk-racer-2dof.5326/

Very nice Projekt... looks like very expensive. Pololu und the motors are very expensive ones

Cost Vs value is always one of circumstances and perspective.

There is always a trade off between cost and performance, it cost a fraction of what it would be to buy a commercial sim to build my own, as many other do.

Good DC motors cost a bit, but are far less expensive that actuators of things like the DBox system. People do also use wiper motors and that is fine, but they are not really suited to a compact design such as mine.

The Pololu boards do cost a bit but provide simplicity and refined motion. Arduinos and Motor Monsters also do a good job, but it takes a bit more work and there have been a spate of faulty MM boards from various suppliers, so the cheaper ones can be problematic.

You will need to realistically consider what you want to build and what it will take to actually drive the motion at an adequate rate.

Yes, you are right. I'm looking for a good balance between price and performance. This seat is my first and is a kind of preliminary stage for a better system. the fun of the project is at the forefront. this is the first time that I see the opportunity to build the project. I got the idea for years. xsimulator gave me the missing puzzle pieces.

If you want to go for the cheapest hardware have a look at the shoulder or foot mount designs, as both have good inherent leverage, which means you can get away with less powerful motors.

But if you have you heart set on a compact design do seriously consider investing in powerful DC motors, they make a world of difference.

Either way you are in the right place to make your sim building dream come true, the members here have a wealth of knowledge and expertise and freely share both.

125kg actually and it slowed a bit, but still moved them
for over 100kg, id recommend 50:1 , 60:1 boxes on the motors instead of the 25:1

I forgot, I had 40mm CTC lever moving about 100 deg total swing. It gave me about 7 deg sway and 17 deg surge, due to position of the uni joint pivot.
A profile fix evened things up.

I know now from experience that 40mm CTC lever in a design like @bsft means a lot of movement and torque needed!, mine has 45mm lever but at 120cm from the COG, so if I want to have the same kind of movement as @bsft I would need at least 80mm lever or even more and I think my motors can't handle that being just 120Watts.

@mariano68 , my motors are 200 watts , and in desk racer configuration, they move up to 125kg player just fine.
Maybe you need to look at bigger motors then.
What sim do you have again? Got a link please?

    @mariano68 first did a chair sim: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/help-choosing-the-right-kind-of-2dof-for-me.6813/

Then more recently built the electric jack powered foot mount sim: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/2dof-foot-mount-sim-powered-by-12v-electric-jacks.7601/

that does not help me @noorbeast, I went through the thread and found at least 3 variations in design.
@mariano68 , when you get a chance, can you please post a picture of your current ride? and what motors you are using on the ride?
