SLI running problems - dropped FPS

    Hello all, I am now running 2 x GTX560Ti in SLI and have found a few games fps rate has dropped. Dirt2 being an example. I am running xp.
    One card, v-sync on (locks fps at 60) all settings maxed, benchmark of about 60 fps. Two cards, same settings, down to 45 fps. WTF. I read that dirt 2 is sli configurable via a patch but after installing the patch, no difference. Unless I missed a setting in game.
    And yes I can notice a difference between 45 and 60 fps.
    I have only found one driver that supports sli in nvidia being the latest and am stuck to using that.
    Does anyone else have SLI running problems?
    Does anyone have another driver they can suggest that supprts SLI. Drivers 266, 270, 275 do not.

    Change of plan, I am getting win 7 tomorrow. I just ran several tests , not x-sim related though as I have an SLI configuration and it works perfectly under a borrowed version of win 7. Everything works very well.
