    Hello all,

    Brian here from the USA,

I came across this surplus center that sells alot of hardware that may be beneficial to all building a simulator (http://surpluscenter.com/). It is located here in the US and I have purchased some gear motors from them and most of there stuff is brand new. They have all kinds of motors, gears, hydraulics, and pneumatic stuff for very low prices.

P.S. Thanos you do great work. You are one amazing person for all the work you do and give the information to all of us for free......... Thanks.

    Hi Brian

    Thanks for you kind words,

I checked the site you mention and it does have lots of useful stuff in motors and related hardware.

As I'm going to the AC motor's way, I need a simple circuit that will translate the 0 - 5 volts signal from my AVR motion controller to a -11/+11 volts signal.

To explain better, when I supply 0 volts from my AVR, the output should be -11volts, when I supply 2.5volts from my AVR the output should be 0 volts and when I supply 5volts from my AVR the output should be +11volts.

The shifting of 0-5 volts from my AVR will be analog and will be indicating the direction and speed, with 2.5volts to be the center stop of the motor.

I'm trying to make such opamp circuit that can do this voltage level translation into signals that can be read by AC drives for AC motors but I had no luck until now, as my knowledges in analog electronics isn't that good yet. If you can, help me by suggesting a circuit I could try to achieve this level translation...

    Best Regards, Thanos

Thanos, Do you want the -11 to +11 vdc to increment and decrement or do you want the output to be -11 vdc when the input is 0 vdc, +12 when the input is 5 vdc and 0 vdc when 2.5 vdc is applied.??? (a comparator or a voltage window detector) :?

    Hi Brian,

I want it to increment and decrement the voltage in analog mode, (not digital like switch)

Currently the output of my AVR board is analog voltage like in the schematic below:
    avr_bidirectional_mode_5v.gif

And I want it to amplify it into a higher voltage level and shift it so the center will be 0 volts in the output:
    avr_bidirectional_mode_11v.gif

You can imagine it as an AC signal, but used in a different way to set the speed and direction of a motor!

    Any ideas?

    Regards, Thanos

    Hi,

Someone suggested me this circuit. Will this work? :sos:
