    I am wanting to integrate simtools into a smartphone powered vr headset. if I were to write an interface to receive bluetooth signals from the phone, would there be a way I could get these signals into simtools to move motors for the simulator? I am not wanting to go with a headset that requires a cable.....

    There are a number of ways to stream PC video to a smart phone and potentially use it with existing smartphone VR headset, but I would strongly advise against it because of the significant latency involved. It is a recipe for making people really sick and there are very good technical reasons why the Oculus Rift and Vive are tethered for high-end gaming VR use.

    no, I think you misunderstand. I have an app I have written for a smartphone vr headset.... I want to use bluetooth to send the positioning information to the pc, not the video..... So that the pc can position the motors accordingly.

    I work for Nokia, they have recently announced the vr camera they are unleashing.. My personal goal, not work related is to integrate vr video into motion platforms... Simtools seems to be a good start, I need a starting point, so a Joyrider, some vr on the phone with simtools and then showing it to people I work with maybe will raise some eyebrows. VR video is coming, think about a home motion platform that can imitate the kind of sensations you get from a Disney ride like Star Tours.... a whole new industry can open up. .. https://ozo.nokia.com/

    There is the existing joystick plugin that allows you to record a motion sequence for say a video and @yobuddy is working on a playback capability for SimTools. So all you would need if it were used with a phone based HMD would be something to ensure the playback sequence started at exactly the same time for both.
