    Hey guys, quick question.

    For some reason I can't get the SimTools_Registration.exe application to work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, as well as turning firewall and antivirus off. Anyone else have this issue?

    edit: administrator permissions also don't help

    edit edit: Instead of "not working" I should have specified that it crashes upon trying to open it.

    Hey, thanks for the reply :)

    When I launch the program, the loading bar will get about 1/6 of of the way across and then windows will throw an error. It all happens in a fraction of a second.

    @Tim McGuire ,
    Are you installing 2.0 on a machine that had 1.3 on it?
    Did you fully remove 1.3 from this PC?

    @Tim McGuire also make sure that you do not have Simtools running when you try to use the registration tool.

    It originally had 1.3 on it. I installed 2.0 on the first go-around without removing 1.3, but then I uninstalled both completely, and reinstalled 2.0 only. Are there any other simtools files that an uninstall wouldn't wipe? I can give it another go

    As long as you answer yes to "Remove old Settings and Files?" during the un-installation process you should be ok.
    Do you know if you did that buddy?

    @Tim McGuire you might check C:\Users\[you]\AppData\Local for the Simtools folders and manually delete them.

    @Tim McGuire ,
    please try this buddy,
    1) Removed all copies of SimTools.
    2) Manually delete the folders if they are found.
    3) Reinstall SimTools 2.0

    Very strange @Tim McGuire ,
    Would you mind reinstalling .net to make sure its not a corrupted .net installation?

    Also are you trying to register a free or paid for key?
    I can issue you a refund at any time if need be.

    I'll give that a try and report back once I'm done. I registered for a Professional License. I'm sure I'll get it working eventually, so hopefully no refund will be necessary :p

    I'm on win10 64 bit

    Much appreciated! I'm in no great rush, so don't go out of your way, I'm sure it must be something strange on my end.

    I ran a .NET framework repair, sadly it didn't change anything

    Would the registration program dump any logfiles anywhere that would be of use to look at?

    Is there a way to keep or backup existant profiles ?
    what about 2 separate PC? do we have to remove fist gamemanager (gaming PC) and game engine on the second PC?
    do we have to uninstall gamedash?
