Question simple test with SMC3 and small dc motor...

    Been a while since I last posted. My RC 6DOF works fine, moved onto going bigger. Currently trying to get a small DC motor to work in a test environment before going bigger with more components to mess up.

    Envisioning DIY Servos; microcontroller with code, motor shield, dc motor, pot, and power supply. check but seem to be missing something...

    I have the hardware set up in the pic, uploaded SMC3 as is to the Arduino, twist the pot and expect the motor to move but it doesn't do anything.

    highly likely I just don't understand, there are a ton of threads just trying to find the right ones
