    Hi all,

I'm still familiarizing myself with Simtools and the software side and wanted to log the Simtools output to make sure I understand what the output looks like so that I can ultimately adapt it to my custom setup.

To monitor the output I tried starting with a basic interface and using the Output Testing section thinking that I could view the output using a serial monitor but I'm not getting any output.

I am using com0com to create a virtual serial port pair and using one as the Simtools output and for now just using Putty to view the partner port. I have tested com0com and can successfully use terminal sessions to send and receive two way data in between the two virtual ports so no issue there.

I have Simtools set up as below for testing.

After connecting to the CNCB0 serial port which should just be dumping out whatever Simtools sends to the CNCA0 port indicated above I get nothing. No output and no indication of anything happening when I use Output Testing on either DOV or Axis Output.

Before I connect my hardware up I want to make sure I have a good understanding of what's being sent to it. If there is a better way of testing please let me know, otherwise, what am I missing to be able to view simtools output?

    Thanks for the help

One additional point, I tried using this tool to test as well.
I configured exactly as in the post using localhost address. Firewall opened up for the virtual sim app and Simtools but I don't get anything from Simtools when I try output testing.

I am on a Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
I had a chance today to work with this again and after reinstalling everything...both Simtools and com0com I got it working.

Something must have gotten messed up since I have been doing a lot of testing lately.
Now to figure out the best way to scale outputs and get it into the format I need. It seems like a custom plugin for Simtools is probably the way to go, but I'm also looking at FlyPT mover.

Thanks for trying to help noorbeast.
