So after re-reading my design brief ...Already been tested and it is exactly what I was after. In its park position in the picture.

    wonderful work here!

I have used a PS3 with TrackNoIr few years ago but didn't change the filter. Is it a great improvement?
    did you follow these steps?

Recently, I stumbled upon these new solution: a smartphone with an 10$ app communicating via Wifi to a software on the PC. I suppose Smartphone camera and recognition face software are high end nowadays.

The filter made a huge difference, the image is all black apart from the IR leds. FI, I thought the new small rigs big heave would be overkill - nope, absolutely worth it.

The filter made a huge difference (made no other MODs), the received image is all black apart from the IR leds.

Can we see a video of it in action?

The upright linear sliders are pretty clear, but I am presuming they are also small linear sliders on the two cross bars, to allow for the type of angle displacement depicted in the picture?

    Only 3 actuators? That's interresting.

Yes you are spot on. Wanted to be able to lock down the actuator towers to minimise any oscillations. There will be another set of sliders at the front to allow displacement also in that plane (pitch).

New build has been up and running - much smoother in operation then the peg leg design. Will have a video up when I find the time. New 2010 800mm ballscrews are also in transit to stop the motors maxing out in long/fast movements.

That is so not nice to tease us, with no pictures, no videos.
Can't wait to see that thing in action.

I am in the process of finding a new house interstate, so time to do other things has been limited, but should have something up soon. With full supported screws, it is very smooth in operation at high speeds compared to my old 6DOF.

Pic - It all breaks down into a flat pack for moving.

    Video

Still a work in progress and it has nowhere reached its potential, with the ballscrews to be upgraded from 5mm pitch to 10mm as the motors are running out of speed so I have currently limited available motion. More DOFs/G systems are to be added. Most of the noise is from the resonance of the box steel. Will fill with foam once the design is finalised. Note: video is a touch old and does not have all the current revisions, but gives a good idea how it works.

I have 10mm pitch screws. I think you will wish you went with 2025.
