It did not take long for the Samsung Odyssey to go on sale at $350 after the introduction of the Samsung Odyssey Plus: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/s...pdkk/9SWG?=ranMID&activetab=pivot:overviewtab

Correct, but a higher res HMD than Rift or Vive for those who can get away with not using motion cancellation.

The Odyssey plus is more appealing with what they are saying how clear the screens are at 499 it's still not a bad price.

If it works with steam VR surely it wouldn't be that hard to offset controller to HMD motion to cancel it out. Way over my head but it's still just values being read and taken away

I am a bit skeptic of the claims made by Samsung about the Plus, as it is using a similar thing to what PSVR does, a diffuser, which may help reduce the perceived SDE, but does not necessarily improve sharpness in the way additional real pixels would.

While the Odyssey uses SteamVR you can't just stick a Vive puck on the rig and expect it to work, as they won't align. So motion cancellation is not simple with inside out tracking.

Does anyone know if it works with a simple 2dof seat mover? The Vive works fine for me without motion cancellation.

It seems as an okay price, it's not available here in Denmark, but could order it from somewhere else...

The Odyssey should work fine as long as motion cancellation is not needed.

I had in the past Oculus Rift and Vive.
Today I have a Odyssey, by far it's the best.

The only negative for me, it's the ergonomics and how it fix on you.

Hey mate, what type of motion rig are you using and how is the tracking whilst driving? Very curious as I use multiple motion systems and would like something that does not launch you every time you hit a largish bump in the track. Cheers, AussieStig

    I'm using DOFReality H3.
The only issue I have is when the track is Oval. My rig moves to 35º, the game too.
But the visor still in the same position..

Hey Marcelo, that is good to know mate. So bouncing around a bit in the Odyssey + does not cause it to skip or jump if you hit a sharp bump during game play? Cheers, AussieStig

No.. it's normal for me and I also used to play with the normal odyssey without issue too.
