Has anyone taken one of the old 80's or 90's enclosed sitdown racing games and turned it into an up to date sim machine? Maybe with a seat mover? Im thinking that will be my first project but would like some feedback if its been done or attempted. I know space will be a concern, but as a seat mover Ive seen some compact designs.

If somebody could bring motion to an old arcade driving game "Hard Drivin" I'd love to see it!:)

very cool. I was looking at one of the older enclosed versions like pole position or continental circuit. You can pick one up for $100 or so. Not a lot of room to move a seat so it would have to be a mini-mover.

problem is with most of the older games, they are not windows based and would need to run in an emulator. Then theres the issue of getting data out of them.
I still get people ask me if I can get motion for daytona, I tell them no. Then they see the likes of Autosport or even Burnout Paradise and then comment how good it looks.

Something like this is an example. Wasn't thinking of using the actual game itself, but fitting it with a computer and new screens etc. Hope this attached right.

I'd love to get MAME working with Simtools. To run "Outrun" on my motion Sim would take me right back to my childhood!!!
