    Hello,

will multicore be beneficial for the game engine on a second pc on network?
or just a dual core is enough and no difference is seen if more cores?

    thanks

SimTools uses few system resources, so it won't matter what you use to run it on.

For simplicity sake most just run SimTools on the machine that runs the game, SimTools does not use enough system resources to be any sort of performance issue.

Hello Noorbeast, you might be right in many cases but according to what i have experimented that is not my case.

I improved the game play and motion tremendesly by running a laptop for the game engine.

My first PC is an old am2 + amd computer . I run 3x 27 inches screens. I use simvibe + extenal usb sound card. the usb sound card takes a lot of ressources as it is USB . I use z1 dashboard software and periferials. I can tell you depending what you run that motion slows down noticebly . Over the years i became very picky about motion quality ...

i experience once in a while a slow down of my snc5 (3x) even if i use a laptop (also old) for the game engine. It could be that the cpu gets too hot . I have another system laying around (dual core) . I could buy a quad core cpu in ebay eventually to use it if it is worth it ...
does the game engine run faster and better on a x4 system?

I guess it may depend on your definitions relative to hardware, but in my view the system load is minimal, and does not alter that much even when running a game.

Gut zu wissen.Nutze zur Zeit Simtools auch nur auf einen PC. Bin aber am überlegen ob ich meinen alten Athlon64 rauskrame. Sollte ja für Simtools reichen. Oder?
