I'm running in PCars2 on a 2 dof motion rig and doing some tuning. Just to see the effect of sway I added some in - 20% on each motor with one channel reversed the same as roll. Also tried 10 and 30%. Same results.

Everything seemed mostly normal but I picked up a weird bump at specific places on the tracks. Dead repeatable and speed didn’t matter. I’d try at speed and just creeping along, and even in reverse. Same bump to one side or the other and even in some places there would be a hard shimmy that also didn’t matter on speed.

I took sway forces back out and all is right again. Roll provides lots of side force feel for the equivalent of traction loss and tires grabbing again. There’s no bumps whatsoever in the tracks in those locations, no shimmy, etc.

Anyone have a good explanation on what I’m seeing? It’s no big deal and things are fixed. I’ve been tearing up a few of the tracks getting the hang of motion and driving. I was just curious if there was something obvious I’m missing to explain the sway bumps.

Can you please post your actual settings.

The sway Dir settings should be set opposite to roll and sway leans away from a corner, is that the way you have it?

I bet that’s it. I had set sway with the same directions as roll.

Can’t post settings now - different computer - but will try changing the direction sense and see if that fixes it. It really felt like something might be going out of range but it was so weird it would manifest at the exact same locations and in the same way. Totally repeatable.

I had added in the sway when I was setting up No Limits 2 and in that it really adds to the experience since it felt like bumps in the tracks. That it was in the same places each time had me thinking that’s just how it was. But it was weird when driving. My platform would jerk to the side and then go back to level on straight flat road.

Curious what proper sway will feel like.

    Thanks @noorbeast!
