Reportedly, there is a mod out, which allows the PS3 to copy games from DVD to the internal Harddisk and to play them directly from the HDD without the need for the original storage medium.

    german news:

Also George Hotz released source code and documentation of his popular PS3 hack:

Finding someone with great programming knowledge who is able to implement the Force-Sender into the PS3 could be the first step to find a way to extract game data values out of Gran Turismo 5 for our motion simulators.

@Bvillersjr Do you talked with Sony about a official way to get motion data from GT5?

It´s said that the chip mod psjailbreak brings the console into a debug mode, to allow the installation of uncertified software.

There is no need for any hardware modification, other than the hypervisor hack of George Hotz require.

Just a idea: Uncertified software could also be a force-sender similar application

That is great news! I don't know how long it is going to take to write a PS3 Sender, but it will open a new realm of simulators to the public!

Would be very cool to have motion with GT5 ...

Someone has a PS3 and want to test what is possible to do exactly with it?

PSJailbreak, PSgroove and PSfreedom dongles are now very easy to find for 50$ here in canada ...

What I understand is that we would need the dongle to install the Homebrew FTP server, and then write a sender app that would be Homebrew compatible ...

Or we could call Sony and wait forever for an official solution ...
