I have access to 240v in my garage. However being, "legal" under the building code out here I cant tap into it. My current panel is also maxed out so i cant just add in a 240 line without some major rewiring. So my thought was buying a Y splitter and a 240v PDU, and wiring each drive to a plug. However, the AASD-15A are rated for 15 amps and it would be on 30amp breaker, which could be a fire hazard.

I also see people are running these off 120v by turning off the low voltage alarm. I've read people noting the power draw is alot less. But watching the video that Christopher Knauf put up with a 23amp peak @ 220v. I'm somewhat skeptical that would work out, at least on a single circuit.

So, how is everyone wiring these AC motors to the house? I never really see anyone cover it much in build videos.
