Hello all. I have been setting up my first motor (traction loss) for my 3-dof. I have been struggling for days with an issue of the motor movement being jerky. Before I upload all my photos & video of settings, screen grabs and the list of things I've already tried, I thought I would ask this one question first...

Do you need to alter the SMC Sketch in anyway to accommodate 2:1 gearing on the Hall Angle Sensor? Could it be the sensor is too sensitive or not enough in which would cause the jerky motion? I've attached short videos (both with load and no load) and image of the gearing (20t & 40t) as well as the Hall Angel Sensor I'm using for reference.

Any help would be much appreciated!

(I tried video. Xsimulator won't let me use youtube or facebook video)

Just so you know there are some restrictions on new members to deter spam, hence the video issue: https://xsimulator.net/community/fa...ed-posts-needed-before-links-can-be-used.150/

You don't need to gear a 180 Hall sensor, 1:1 is fine.

Could gearing be an issue, possibly so, technically you could get away with what is effectively 90 but it is marginal and really does depend on your settings. You really do need to add pictures of those as well as of your rig, as physical design also plays a potential role.

Members also need to have a clear understanding of all other hardware used, such as motor specs, to offer meaningful suggestions/advice.

Ok great! Thank you for the quick reply. I'll get to work on gathering all the info I can to help explain the issues.
