I posted in the P3D section that it’s out now but posted here because of it now supporting eye tracking. That’s a very new feature in pretty much anything in the sim world. Wonder if support is in for the Valve Index and if a code dive might reveal something about the Index?

Anyway, just a few of the VR features:

    — Added native eye tracking support with the HTC Vive Pro Eye.
    — Fixed offset reflections in VR single pass mode.
    — Various performance improvements to single pass VR.
    — Fixed minor visual artifacts with focal points in VR.

Adding native eye tracking support for Vive Pro Eye is big. That also paves the way for eye tracking if the Valve Index supports it. And you don’t do eye tracking without foveated rendering so even more performance improvements may be incoming with higher resolution headsets.

Cant wait for the Index reveal , I really do hope its going to live up to the hype I'm just worried about the cost but if its really going to be next Gen then the price won't matter as I will have it for a few years :D

Well, bubble burst time, dammit. I did the upgrade and the help message for eye tracking is to use Tobi eye tracking for cursor control. It says nothing about foveated rendering.

Cursor control is next to worthless for me. I'm in my seat with my mouse on a table next to me. I can use the cursor in my peripheral vision to do things while still flying the plane instead of being forced to look away whenever I want to do something.

Maybe it will also do foveated rendering but the help says nothing about that.

And there I was thinking flight simulation might lead the VR world and be first out of the gate with eye tracking and foveated rendering. Silly me.
