Nvidia graphics cards now support Adaptive-Sync (Freesync) on Turing and Pascal cards. Here is how to enable it using the latest Nvidia graphics drivers (417.71): https://old.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/agbwni/nvidia_graphics_cards_now_support_adaptivesync/

Nvidia released a new graphics driver today that now allows users with Freesync displays to use Freesync with an Nvidia card. In order to get this new feature working, follow the guide below.

    • Ensure that your monitor is connected to your PC via a Display Port cable. This function of Adaptive-Sync on Nvidia cards is not yet supported via HDMI. (Image of Display Port Cable)

    • Enable Freesync on your physical monitor via the monitor settings accessible using the monitors menu button. Image
    • Allow the monitor to disconnect and reconnect.
    • Go to your Taskbar and right click the 'Nvidia Control Panel' icon. Image
    • In the left column, under the 'Display' heading, select 'Change Resolution'. Image
    • Select the monitor in which you are enabling Freesync and set it to, preferably, its max refresh rate and hit 'Apply'. Image
    • Navigate back to the left column in the 'Nvidia Control Panel' and locate the new setting of 'Set up G-SYNC'. If it does not appear try closing 'Nvidia Control Panel' and reopening it. If it still does not appear you may be using a cable to connect your display to your PC that is not compatible with 'Adaptive-Sync'. Image
    • Check the box for 'Enable G-SYNC, G-SYNC Compatible'
    • Select the appropriate radio button for 'Enable for full screen mode' or 'Enable for windowed and full screen mode' depending on your needs.
    • Select the monitor that you wish to enable Freesync for.
    • )

    • The monitor will disconnect and reconnect again. If everything went well Freesync should now be enabled on your Nvidia graphics card.
This is not guaranteed to work for all Freesync monitors. Many people have expressed accounts of flickering, weird colors, black screens, etc, when Freesync is enabled. If you encounter this simply disable G-SYNC in the Nvidia control Panel and on your physical monitor and you will be back to your original settings.

Note: Here you will find a master list of user testing that shows their results when enabling Freesync using their specific monitor.
