Firstly, I thank all those before who have contributed to this group. The amount of information is overwhelming.
I am in the design phase and need a little advice.
I am going to construct a Joy ride or RnR type rig.
I am playing around with pulley sizes, angle of movement, torque, length of leverage etc.. Having searched thru a lot of the forum threads and researched TronicGr (thanks Thanos- great stuff), I cannot find info on the optimum number of turns the wiper motor should turn for full scale deflecttion, endstop to endstop. (I am talking about a joy rider type setup here).
I realise there are a number of conflicting variables - resolution, available torque, acceleration, speed of movement, maximum travel, backlash, movement range angle, leverage length from pivot point, mass of the thing (I think I got them all  ).

From the Joyrider videos it looks like your feet go up and down about 200-300mm from zero. For this movement it looks like the wiper pulley turns about 1 turn either way from zero? Am I correct ? This is my question - number of turns at the pulley to give 300mm of movement at the feet, with optimum acceleration and optmum speed. A ball park estimate would be a good starting point for designing the motion mechanics. I know there will need to be alot of tweeking to get things right after the rig is constructed, but a starting point would be useful.

I thank anyone who can contribute.

The pulleys were making 2 and 1/2 turns from each endpoint. But I had to limit it down to 2 turns only to leave some safety space.

    Thanks Thanos,

Was that 2 turns from the centre zero to one end , or 2 turns from end point to end point.

Also thanks for the google link.
    I have 125 pages to read! :)

    Much appreciated
