    Hi Thanos,

    thanks for your feedback!

Yea, that is right :D But i am not sure if i should keep it or not. It´s a great instrument to give more weight for a membership ;) But maybe it´s enough to allow only registered users to download from the site. Let us see...

A member can login invisible, if he does not want to be responded from someone else and can use all x-sim features nevertheless, so only unregistered members could be stressed out by that non-feature.

    best regards
    René

Hiding the links is bad for the community because google will not find them either. Therefore in it's next calculation of PageRank, google will begin considering this site less relavent for simulator related searches and we will move down the rankings. Please re-enable the links!!

Overall, good work with the new site. I did find a few issues, they are listed below.

    Issues with New website
    1. Also, it seems that we are no longer able to vote on tracks.
    2. Also, the new website does not seem to work in older browsers. One of my clients has IE6. The login page was unusable in this browser due to what appeared to be some kind of CSS incompatibility.
    3. Even though I am logged in, when I go to the Videos page, it asks me to login again.
    4. I cannot join a chat because no chat rooms show up in the list.
    5. I cannot add a bug in the bug tracker or I would have reported this list there assuming that there was a section for the website as well as the software.
    6. It would be nice if version 2 of the software was added to the downloads section. Only the old 1.x version is there.

Thanks, and please keep me updated if you find more stuff to do.

I am curious, if you find all new features....some of them are not very obviously but helpful :)

Also nice, there is a personal picture gallery. You can create it via your ucp:
    ucp.php?i=266

If you decide to upload some picture, a little icon beneath your avater occurs.

    0 is enough :mug1:

Just kidding,...it´s working, so let us build the largest gallery with pictures of motion simulators of the world! :)

Do you think seriously that we should create a fat photo gallery from the simulators? From a building phase, to a ready simulator? :brows:
If yes, the thing should get a bigger advertisement then. :hi:

I am not sure what is better and what we shall do.

    Do u prefer having 2-3 categories e.g.

    1. electronic projects,
    2. motion simulators,
    3. Fun stuff

or better use only the user gallerys?

Mhh...it´s the proper time for a poll :)

I vote for personal user gallery only.

A personal gallery where members are able to upload a small collection of their best pics is cool. But without categories. Just sorted by members.

Because Imho a pic gallery including categories wont be used much anyway. The project pics are posted in the proper posts, and probably in the wiki, so there is no need for another place for pics, if users have their personal pic galleries.

    Just my 2 cents.

But ok, lets start a poll...

    regards

Let´s start only with the user gallery, we can change that later... Anyway, it looks better when there are not too much empty categories at the beginning :)

@pointer4 Nice sim, but why is the guy only starring at it and not driving? :D

There are about 25 new members within the last 2 days the new site is online - thats record :yippiee: I estimate that`s, why content links are hidden, but i am not sure, so i want to observe that a little bit longer.

That´s why i made some modifications, to keep the rankings in the searchengines and to hide links at the same time:

I used the browser and searchengines bot-referer to distinguish between both of them. The result is easy:
Searchengine can follow links, non logged in human visitors not ;D

You can try it yourself by using a tool like http://www.suchmaschinenbrille.de/download.htm That tool can change your referer and simulate a searchengine.

    regards
    René

I hope that it works better for you than for me! I found that google intentionally changes the IP addresses that they use to crawl from so that people can't intentionally show them different content than they show real users. Google has made a practice of penalizing sites that intentionally show them different content than a user would see. Proceed with caution!!

    Hi Bernard,

i use the client name from the user_agent as identifier if it is a searchengine or usual browser, so changing IP adresses doesn´t matter. But you´re right google could use a common browser user_agent to check if there are some varieties in shown content and could kill our ranking. But our PR is bad until now, so its not very fatal  The old page was very searchengine unfriendly...i hope the situation changes now.

The sites really good. Looks professional and great on the left side showing the pc race games.
