    Dear guys,

    i am developing a new x-sim community friendly portal website.
    You find the beta version at:
    http://www.x-simulator.de/forum_klon/portal.php

    You can login with your current username and password. Otherwise you can use the following account:

    Username: xtester
    Password: xtester

    Play with the beta portal and write posts as you want, but consider
    that everything you do and write in the testportal will not be ported to the
    production system after the testing phase ends.

    After that i have a desire, and hope you are willing to help me:

    • 1) Starting with the design and layout. Do u like it or have some suggestions for changes?
      2) Do u find bugs or something that has to be fixed, before we can start with the new portal site?
      3) Furher remarks you want to pronounce?

    Hi Martin,

    thanks for your reply. I will integrate the navigation bar (link list) for the wiki as well. The chat is only a prototype, there will be some more changes, maybe a complete new chat later. When it´s done the navibar follows.

    I'm taking a break from sim building and software development today, so I had a chance to go through the pages of the new site as an anonymous user. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to look through as an authenticated user when I have more time.

    A few quick thoughts:

    1.) The full screen layout (at first sight) seems like information overload. There are so many things on the page that I don't know where to begin. Maybe I will get comfortable with it after some more useage though.

    2.) The number of users in chat does not seem to update.

    3.)Overall I like the idea of breaking things out into sections such as pictures/vids. It makes the site more organized. I think that your future approach is far better than the current forums only approach. Maybe we could even break it out further and have a section specific to members simulators?

    the next version of design will content some more specific information boxes to the left and to the right. (maybe only to the left, if it is looks to overloaded as you said).

    I believe you meant to say; W-I-P-E-R. A whipper is something a jockey might use on a horse to make it run faster. Then again, maybe this would be useful on a simulator also :D

    Unfortunately not so much process , that i want to publish it in the clone. I need more freetime, actually i have to catch up my simulator knowledge here, not to destroy some of my expensive sim components ;) But things on the site go on, only with less speed.
