    Hi All

Like many others here I’m up to the point where I want to bring my sim racing to the next level. I’m thinking of building a 6 DOF Hex Pod system.

I’ve watched many of the FAQ videos & threads / comments.

I’ve just some clarification points / questions I want to ask.

    - It seems technology has advanced since some of the videos have been made, but fundamentally if I
    1) Build 6 actuators using servo motors
    2) Use a Thanos AASD-15A motion controller (my understanding is this seems to be the biggest advancement as it’s plug and play, no potentiometers, no need to set high / low points, etc)
    3) Throw some EMI filters on it to stop EMI fluctuations
    4) Can anyone advise how high a rig goes ?? Like when it’s fully extended ?? My ceiling is 2.4m high
    5) Has anyone put their hex pod on castor wheels (easier to move it around)
    6) Servo motors have come down in price over the past couple of years … does anyone strongly believe it will go down further or plateau here on in with demand / supply?
    7) Is there anything that is on the horizon that will be the next game changer for motion sims ?

    Thanks heaps

    Anyone ??

I was watching a video today where they put a encoder on the motor … if I use a servo that already has one … I don’t need another one right ?

    3. emi filter is recommend ,but i actually dont use some and no problems
many users report problems with pv inverters if you use servo without emi filters
    4. a 6dof rotary like mine extends to 2.20m with head
