    My Motion Simulator:
    2DOF, 3DOF, AC motor, Arduino
Hello, I'm new to the forum and the motion simulation world, I'm all about aviation simulation especially DCS and in VR, iv built a Sim pit around the P-51 mustang cockpit.

Im wanting to take my VR experience further so started looking into building a new motion Sim and that's when I come across this great site, lots of reading and studying later I think iv slowly getting to understand what's needed, Im very impressed with noorbeast DX-Compact Simulator and would like to build a 2DOF sim along the same idea as this.

Im a mechanical engineer / fabricator welder and have access to a workshop and materials so putting something together won't be to much of a problem, I'm probably going to need some help with the software side of things from you guys though.

Will probably start a build thread for the build, for everyones input and addvice.

My first question on here is I'm stuck on motor/gearbox choice, I'm in the UK and doesn't seem to be much choice, anyone else in the UK able to point me in the right direction, the only gearbox iv found that seems subtable is the Motovario NMRV030 60:1 but then I cannot find a suitable motor (12/24V) for the box.

    Thanks

You have come to the right place, as there is a really active community here who freely give of their time and expertise.

Sometimes importing motors is the best option, but at different times members have been able to source motors in the UK, so may be able to advise, also try ebay.

You will find plenty of helpful information in the FAQs to get you started, in particular check out the design section: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

You can go through existing member projects for specific ideas or inspiration: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Or search for specific types of projects using the Google Custom Search function on the Recent page: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/find-new/posts?recent=1

If something sounds odd then look it up in the glossary: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.
