    Hello, guys!

Need help. I have by accident saved a couple of 2dof sims from being thrown away to the junkyard, and I want you to help me and give them a second life.

The problem is, I'm completely incompetent in the subject. The local Russian forum on this is rather dead and doesn't even allow to register.

My main question: is it even possible to launch this stuff with the simtools software, and if so, what am I doing wrong and what should I do to get the stuff work?

I was also given the old computer (win7-64) that worked paired with the sim, and on its board I found the GTR2 game and E-Motion Control M utility which work properly.
All my attempts to make the sim work under Win10 + Simtools failed.

All the hardware is in the pictures bellow.
    There are 2 x stepper motor (pl86h113-4.2-4), 2 x stepper motor driver (Purelogic PLD880), 3 x Arduino Nano v.5 boards.

    Any help would be appreciated.

As I understood it, these steppers are analogs of NEMA 34, and on this forum there is not a single finished project that uses steppers, right?

Stepper motors can only be used to step from one position to another

whilst they have lots of a advantages ie they are high torque and do not need a positon feedback, what they can not do it be controlled using PID - ie you can not make them travel quickly to a destination and then slow down when they get there

you will need to program an interface to move them - do your control boxes work on a voltage or on a data interface like serial ?

    Hello! Thanks for responding!
That's sad. Thank you for the explanation. However, it seems to move quite realistically. I'm gonna take a video and show.

How do I figure this out? There are no interfaces except the USB to PC.

Perhaps the utility that went with it could help in some way?

ok if its usb - its probably using a virtual serial port

so is the sim working ?

what do you want to do ?

So, is there any chance to make it work with other games under simtools?

you need to find out the communication protocol

i would do this by using a com port sniffer

or you may be able to look at the way the software is configured to transmit data

    Thank you!

I'm gonna try and go the first way, all the software configuration is in the picture.
