    Hello,
I am started to built a 2DOF sim especially for Roller coaster.
My hardware is: Arduino Uno R3 (SMC3 installed), 2 Monster Moto each for 1 motor, 2 Wormgear 190W motor and 2 Reignpower 12V 37.5Amp 500W power supply (each for one Monster Moto).

I want to know if I must use also battery with this configuration....my power supplies aren't from an PC PSU but they are powerfull. I don't know why some people use battery and some not, what is the problem?
I will be very happy if someone can explain this and tell me if on my hardware the battery is a must.

This is the power supply that I will use.

As long as the PSUs are powerful enough to cover the spike load demands of the motors then no battery is required. I still not clear what actual PSUs you intend using.

Please do start your own build thread and ask questions like these in it, that way all the information is in one place and can be referred back to later as your project progresses.

While the Reignpower will do the trick, they may be expensive to source locally, replace parts on etc....

Most members have had good experiences with the HP DPS-600B and other PSU's from Server's.
They tend to be big AMPS in a relatively small package.

    The HP DPS-600B is 46A @ 12v and about USD$10 on Ebay

There is also DELL and IBM PSU's that people have had success with, but the model numbers escape me at the moment....

    Good Luck!

If I buy a $10 PSU from ebay the total will be aprox. $50 with shipping / customs charges for my country.
That's why I already bought two new Reignpower power supplies from a local dealer 2pcs for $132. These are covered by warranty for two years.
    Thanks
