Update: station finished, I placed behind the electronics and power supply, arduino leonardo for the steering wheel DD, buttons and analog inputs x accelerator, clutch closed clutch in a case psu Atx and then ventilated x refrigerating the 2bts from 43 in parallel. on the side a 0.5F brax capacitor and on the right a fujitsu 66A server power supply.

My steering wheel weighs around 15kg.
Do you believe that experts can move everything with wiper motors, including real car pedals?

    ciao Marco

hi, something moves in my new simulator. these engines are opel power steering with engines from 80A to 12V reduction 16/1.
they work thanks to the magnificent work of simtools and smc3.
I built hall effect potentiometers with my 3D printer and work well up to an angle of 170 * (180 maximum risk).
if you want I can share the stl files that I designed for this purpose.
soon also the pictures of the simulator chassis almost ready.

    Marco

Some photos of the 15x30 iron frame, with fiat 600 pedal board, 2n series point shaft, plate to adjust weight offset structure, seat and steering wheel still work in progress, I wait for the rod ends to connect the engines to the structure.

little step forward. run accelerator using hall1302 sensor, with hard disk magnet. good range from 0.10V to 4.68V. the next step concerns the load cell on the brake pedal with hx711 and arduino leonardo amplifiers. here some photos

finally my 2dof station takes shape. built and tested the brake with a load cell today. two springs preload the cell, after a stroke of 1cm the spring closes and starts to push only on the cell.

the view of the two gearmotors with a 30mm diameter shaft, the motor has 12v and I assume 80A detected by its protection fuse. the feedback is done with hall effect potentiometers designed and built in 3d print. still in a solid iron frame.

view of the flying motor, the same used for the dynamics (soon replaced by a mu1020) with its omron encoder and printed support. push pull forced ventilation system.

news, new engine for my FFB steering wheel, 12kg of pure strength and torque. recovered by a 1991 brushing machine, motor with 4 brushes of 0,75kw 36v.
thanks to the modified lathe axis plus flying shaft, cut reduction box. this is very strong, the only limit is the small 66A power supply soon replaced by a more powerful.
I feared that the dynamic station would suffer from all this added weight, but it did not even realize it and not even me. these electric steering motors are fabulous, everything stays cold even after hours of use including motomonster.
